Want to improve your language skills in French, in an Asian language? Looking for new friends who can teach you about the culture you are interested in? We’ve got what you are looking for! Our point is to find you a language partner in order to set up "language couples", ex: 1Chinese-1french, 1Japanese-1French

It gives you the opportunity to improve your language skills and get to know better the culture you are interested in. You can also exchange tips! If you are interested in having a language partner, please fill up and send us back the attached form!

Intercultural exchange programme 2011-2012

En Vedette

This next project we’re bringing you is our exchange programme with the Le Havre campus, making its comeback this year after its inaugural session in 2009-2010!

SciencesPo’s Le Havre campus are one of Asie Extrême’s dearest friends and partners, where undergraduate students study issues related to Europe and Asia, as well as Asian languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Hindi.

Here’s where you come in! Asie Extreme and Le Havre’s BdA are proposing an exchange programme, matching one student from Paris with one student from Le Havre, taking into account your profiles, preferences and interests as far as possible. Then, the adventure in two cities can begin!

  • For the first part, keep the weekend of 18-20 November free for a visit to Le Havre where our friends will host us. This is your chance to escape Paris, discover Normandy… even go to the beach (weather permitting)! You will meet your buddies from Le Havre and join in the festivities celebrating Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, as well as other activities such as sailing or a choice of artistic workshops (e.g. introductory session in Chinese calligraphy; K-pop, Chinese/Bollywood dance) (TBC). Masters students and exchange students may also be invited to speak to interested students (both from Paris and Le Havre) about their experience abroad and on the Paris campus.
  • In the second part, it’ll be our turn to play hosts to our buddies from Le Havre, inviting them to Paris on the weekend of 10-12 February 2012 and showing them the sights.

 So whether you’re an undergraduate, an exchange student, a Masters student, you’re invited! If you have interested friends – they’re invited too! If you’re interested in making new friends, finding a language partner, experiencing new things, there’s only one thing you can do now: fill in this form and send it back to us before Wednesday, November 9 to asie.extreme@sciences-po.org!

Click here to download the application form for the exchange programme

Please note that:

  • You have to be prepared to host your buddy while in Paris: on a free bed, couch or mattress. Your buddy will bring a sleeping bag if needed;
  • It is obviously important that you keep those two weekends free;
  • The only thing you’ll be asked to pay for are your own transport to/from Le Havre (approx. 30 with the carte 12-25 for return train tickets) and possibly the entrance fee to a club (TBC).

Don’t miss this chance of a lifetime – places are limited so sign up quick! Your buddies can’t wait to meet you!

With Love,

Asie Extrême

Exposition Ai Weiwei
